Day 2
Last night it’s fair to say I went out like a light

I’m going to have to agree - it was big, but I never got to grips with the why

Needless to say, the olives looked foul and stank of garlic which did mean we had the pavement to ourselves most of the way to the plaza de espana

We then started to head home but were distracted by a bar/ restaurant

Do you see the detail here

And then it was time for the show

But not before crossing the river again...

....before making our way home - it’s been a short day, but a good one, and now I’m ready for my bed
An early start, heavy cheese and alcohol consumption meant that was always going to be the case
Our apartment is in a small, old town alleyway and we had the shutters closed which meant we were in complete darkness
All of which explains why I didn’t wake up until 11:30 - I feel like a teenager again
I even had the hangover to prove it...
Once up we decided to go to the “biggest wooden monument “ as described to us last night
I’m going to have to agree - it was big, but I never got to grips with the why
In my opinion it was also dwarfed by the poor tuning of the bells of one of the million churches we have passed
We were hungry then so Joss had some more Iberian Ham and olives, while I went for the spaghetti bolognaise
Needless to say, the olives looked foul and stank of garlic which did mean we had the pavement to ourselves most of the way to the plaza de espana
Which was VERY impressive
We then started to head home but were distracted by a bar/ restaurant
Joss was still hungry and ordered chips - telling the waiter they were to share even though I’d said I wasn’t hungry
She ate the first half of the chips when they arrived then poured salt over the remaining half, thus ensuring I wouldn’t want any of the rest and so ate that too
Here is a picture of what was left
Do you see the detail here
There are TWO forks and the one that wasn’t used now has ketchup all over it. Did you also notice the 2 scrunched up serviettes ?
Yes all there to convince the waiter she hadn’t scoffed the lot
How could she .....
We then went back to the apartment (via the supermarket for treats) to prepare for tonight’s Flamenco show - the only thing I’d booked for the whole week
It was quite a walk and we had to cross the river
And then it was time for the show
They wouldn’t allow us to take pictures / videos until the end but I want to say, it was bloody amazing
The first girl that danced was so good Joss almost stopped breathing - she was so that good
The second girl and the guy were also talented , but not in her league
I took a video of what I was allowed which shows the girl dancing but in no way reflects how good she was
It does, however, reflect how weird the wailing guy was, and I will leave to your imagination why Joss couldn’t look at me when he did his wailing solo at the beginning
We left then and had pizza
But not before crossing the river again...
....before making our way home - it’s been a short day, but a good one, and now I’m ready for my bed
