Day 3

We woke this morning at a much more reasonable 9am

That’s not to say it didn’t take us over an hour to get out of the apartment but every step forward should be applauded

We decided today to go to the main cathedral in Seville ( like Rome, Seville is littered with massive churches)

Google maps took us a very scenic route through all the beautiful back streets

It’s no wonder that all of the cars have dents and scratches - they get so narrow

This guy though has no chance of being able to leave his space

We got to the cathedral and indeed it was very impressive- as was the queue - but it moved fairly quickly and we were soon in

Helped in no small part by Joss blocking a way into the queue that she’d noticed people were using to cut in - only us Brits know how to queue properly

As I said - it was impressive inside

I have many more photos, but this one disturbed me a bit

It’s the head of John the Baptist

Although this one deserves a special mention too

God only knows what’s going on here ....

After this we headed off to lunch and found the place we had drinks in yesterday

Joss had the spaghetti bolognaise

And I had the meat and chick peas

Both very lovely

We headed on back then but not before 1) booking up another flamenco show tomorrow ( yesterday’s performance was really that good - this is in a different place though) and 2) stopping off for a drink and a little food back in the oldest pub in Seville

Joss decided to try the local sherry and when posing for a picture, couldn’t resist adding an ole

Hahahahaha brilliant

We then called in to the local supermarket for some “essentials” and back to the apartment

When we first came here we may have been a tad disparaging towards the apartment  - but I love it now

It’s close to everything good and I love the idea of leaving in the morning and no nosey sod comes round to judge us on the amount of rubbish we’ve accumulated - bliss 😄

So good is the place that after having some wine we decided to join the Spanish and have a siesta - when in Seville .....

We went out for the evening with the intention of doing some shopping then eating

Within 30 minutes or so I’d decided I disliked shopping at night more than I did in the day, so we settled for a meal

We found this place

We’d seen on the menu that it did steak - perfect

When the waiter came over we ordered two large beers - he was happy with that but was horrified when we asked for 2 large waters too - so we switched to 1 and were thankful as a large water was a 2 litre bottle

So when it came to the steak, it was on the tapas menu and came in small, medium and large

We didn’t want to appear overly piggish so ordered the medium and he stood there waiting for us to order more

When we didn’t he said ok, you can order more later so we assumed that medium wasn’t going to fill us up

This is what came

Look at it!!!

THREE steaks and chips EACH!!!

What else was he expecting us to order? There must have been something in his mind as he also brought bread!!!

His final question was whether we needed cutlery or not - how do people eat this is Spain for goodness sake !!!

Well to cut a long story short I won by eating my meal and 1 of Joss’ steaks but it completely did me in and we came home by 10:30 to call Eloise and Harriet to finish the day off

I just hope the plumbing here functions better than it looks in the morning 👀
